Fade In and Fade Out

You can modify an effect over time by using the fade in and fade out markers. For example, suppose you want an image to gradually appear, and then, after a few seconds, gradually disappear. Here’s how:

Click and drag the fade in marker. The playhead will move as you drag the marker. Place the fade in marker at the point in time that you want the image to be fully visible.

Click and drag the fade out marker. Place it at the point in time that you want the image to start to fade out.
Select either the fade in or fade out marker by single-clicking on it (a selected marker is dark), and move the transparency slider to the far left (meaning no transparency).

Note: Both the fade in and fade out markers have the same settings. They mark the time period where the effect is constant. If you want constant change, place the fade in and fade out markers at the same location.
